My artwork in NYC!

My artwork in NYC!

When one of your dreams comes true, it’s sometimes hard to believe. I’ve been showing my work since forever and one of my goals was to show in a well known New York City gallery.  Now my work will be in two New York galleries in December!

I was invited to participate in the “Cave of the Stars “Urban Natives Unrecognized” that will be show at the 1199SEIU Bread and Roses Cultural Project Gallery located at 310 West 43rd Street, NY, NY.  The reception will be held on December 12, 2019 from 5-9 p.m.

This year I applied to the Latin American Contemporary Fine Art Competition that features 35 up-and-coming artists from various Latin American countries who have been given the opportunity to have their work exhibited at Agora Gallery White Space Chelsea, located at 530 West 25th Street, NY, NY.

The winning artists gain valuable exposure for their artwork and the chance to open up a path to a wider international audience. The competition fosters talent, allowing participants to evolve into successful professional artists. Two of my digital paintings will be shown from December 10–20, 2019.

In addition to showing the work in a rotating digital display, it also got exposure through the well crafted press release on my work that was written for the exhibit. As follows:

Virginia Robles-Villalba ignites digital artwork on canvas with concepts of memory and mysticism. Archetypal artifacts and celestial symbols reminiscent of pre-Columbian art orbit expansive and enigmatic imagined alternative universes. The genesis of Robles-Villalba’s work emerged from investigations into her rich Puerto Rican (Boricua) heritage that encompasses the Taino Indian, Spanish, and African cultures. Captivated by artistic spiritual intent of ancient artisans, Robles-Villalba intends for her imagery to be a metaphor for the transcendent journeys taken by shamans throughout history and a proud message of the power of indigenous spirituality.

The Agora Gallery reception is also on December 12 but from 6-8 pm.

I plan on being at both of them!
